The Dieffenbach GM Superstore is proud to announce the substantially updated 2027 Silverado 1500 full-size pickup line. This is new fifth-generation Silverado offers comprehensive updates inside and out, along with considerable improvements underneath the hood on most trim levels.

Many 2027 Silverado 1500 trim levels will continue to offer the 2.7-liter TurboMax engine as standard equipment, offering 430 lb-ft of torque—the most peak torque of any standard engine in a full-size truck. One big improvement for 2027: the TurboMax will shed the eight-speed automatic for the ten-speed automatic used elsewhere in the Silverado 1500 line, potentially improving both performance and efficiency.
The Duramax 3.0-liter inline-6 turbodiesel remains unchanged (although it is now available on the work-ready WT trim). However, those familiar with the Silverado 1500’s V8 engines will have some new numbers to commit to memory, as the former 5.3-liter and 6.2-liter V8s will be replaced by next-generation 5.7-liter and 6.6-liter V8 engines, which represent the dawn of the sixth-generation Chevrolet small-block V8.
The new 5.7-liter V8 features next-generation cylinder deactivation and direct injection and will produce 400 horsepower—up 45 from the 5.3-liter engine—and 430 lb.-ft. of torque without relying on turbocharging or hybrid driveline technologies. While Chevrolet has not yet provided precise power figures for the new 6.6-liter engine, representatives say it should produce over 470 horsepower while offering the most torque of any naturally aspirated V-8 engine in the half-ton full-size pickup segment.
“We pushed these engines through an extensive testing and validation process to make sure they deliver the durability, capability, and dependability Silverado customers expect,” said Mark Dickens, Silverado's Executive Chief Engineer. “From tough towing scenarios to the daily demands our customers put on their trucks, these next-generation V-8s were engineered and proven to perform in the real world.”
The 2027 Silverado 1500 lineup will consist of seven familiar trim levels:
- WT
- Custom
- Custom Trail Boss
- Silverado
- Trail Boss
- ZR2
- High Country
While each trim level has its own personality, the entire 2027 Silverado 1500 range receives a redesigned front fascia, allegedly inspired by recent Silverado HD models. The 1500 now has updated LEDs and headlights, along with more prominent wheel arches and rocker panels. Additionally, the standard dual exhaust on Custom and higher trims enhances its sophisticated look. Clearly visible to traffic behind a new 2027 Silverado 1500 will be a 3-foot-wide center high-mounted LED stop light, which runs across the rear edge of the cab's roofline.
The 2027 Silverado 1500's cabin has been redesigned around a new class-leading 13.3-inch display and a 12.2-inch digital driver display. Both features are standard across the model line. ZR2 and High Country will also have an 11.5-inch front passenger screen, a Heads-Up Display, and a rear camera mirror, so you can always see behind you, no matter how large a load is being carried within the pickup bed. Dual wireless smartphone charging will be available, along with a new configurable multi-flex center console that can fold flat to create a useful workspace.
Available SuperCruise with Trailering will provide the only hands-free driving while towing in the industry. A new panoramic sunroof will be standard on the High Country and available on the ZR2.
With seven trim levels and four drivetrain options, including the more powerful V8s, there will surely be a Silverado 1500 that fits your needs. The 2027 models are expected to arrive in late 2026.
