2024-chevrolet-trailblazer-activ-001.jpgWhen choosing the right Chevrolet SUV, you have many things to consider. Interior space is a great place to start. Passenger comfort and cargo utilization are key factors in determining your choice of vehicle. You can also throw performance, economy, agility, and value into your decision-making process.

Chevrolet offers a wide range of choices in the SUV segment. Recently, Edmunds.com compared our 2026 Trailblazer and Equinox. While these SUVs are different in size, they share a common purpose. They are designed to carry four to five people comfortably and still bring anything they might need for the trip. They also ride higher off the ground for better ease of entry and exit, as well as handle rougher pieces of road.

2024-chevrolet-trailblazer-activ-018.jpgWhen you look at the 2026 Trailblazer, you will see a smaller SUV that is mightier than it seems. It starts with a choice of drivelines. Front-wheel-drive models are equipped with the efficient 137-horsepower ECOTEC 1.2-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine, producing 162 pound-feet of torque, and can achieve up to 31 MPG on the highway. If you want all-wheel drive, the ECOTEC 1.3-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine offers 155 horsepower and 174 pound-feet of torque, while returning up to 29 MPG on the highway.

In terms of interior room, the 2026 Trailblazer offers 98.2 cubic feet of passenger space, providing ample room for everyone. You also get up to 54.4 cubic feet of cargo space with the rear seats down.

2026-chevrolet-equinox-activ-106.jpgIn the larger 2026 Equinox, there is slightly more passenger space, measured at 104.3 cubic feet. However, there is up to 63.5 cubic feet of maximum cargo space available for larger shopping trips or smaller moves across the county.

Power-wise, the 2026 Equinox features a 175-horsepower 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, which also produces 203 pound-feet of torque. It also returns up to 29 MPG on the highway with all-wheel drive.

Despite the differences in size and performance, the 2026 Trailblazer and Equinox share many common features designed specifically for you. They both offer sizeable HD color touchscreens of 11 inches or more with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.

2026-chevrolet-equinox-activ-05.jpgAlso, both the 2026 Trailblazer and Equinox are equipped with Chevy Safety Assist. This feature-rich set of driver assistance features is designed to keep you and your fellow occupants safe from any situation that you encounter on the road.

For those of you who want to play deep in the forest, both the 2026 Trailblazer and Equinox offer the Activ trim. These rugged models wear all-terrain tires for improved grip away from the highway and extra protection where it is needed.

Both of these Chevrolet SUVs are designed to help you experience that special feeling you get from a vehicle wearing the bowtie badge. That peace of mind you cannot get from any other SUV in its respective size class.
